What’s Geoffrey listening to?
A few favorites—and why they matter to me.
Where my love of music began
My love of music began with my dad: a Yamaha turntable, Marantz headphones, and albums from the 1960s and ’70s. He gave me his time and shared what he loved. Those moments opened my ears to classical and instrumental music, folk, and singer-songwriters. Later, I added the music of the ’80s to that growing mix.
I remember rides in his 1972 Chevrolet Corvette with songs like “American Pie,” “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Monday, Monday,” and “Tiny Dancer.” The car and the songs are part of the memory, but the heart of it is my dad giving me his time and sharing his love of music.
